Right from its establishment PMM has been rescuing snakes and other reptiles as well as various wild beasts and birds and restoring them to their natural habitat.
PMM undertakes all these rescue operations free of cost and at its own risk. The members of this team rather jeopardize their own life during many such operations. Their concern for the nature and wildlife is commendable.
Whenever snakes and other wild animals stray into human habitat the members rescue and release them in safe areas of the forest. Utmost care is taken that no harm is caused during such operations to the animals. Co operation from the Forest Department makes the work easier.
PMM members visit schools, colleges, universities and approach even the commoners to bring awareness regarding wildlife especially snakes. They tell them the real facts and debunk the myths about snakes.
20 members have been trained for rescue work in Dahod.
The book "Sarp Sandarbh" penned by Shri Ajay Desai is quite remarkable and gives ample information about snakes in Gujarati.
